Young pensive maid at the well in summer landscape, surprised by young nobleman, glazed genre painting, oil on canvas, c. 1900, indistinctly signed "Duxa" lower right, craquelure, restored, framed in gilt stucco frame, folding dimensions approx. 68.5 x 54.5 cm. Artist info: also Karl Duxa, Austrian genre painter (1871 Vienna to 1937 Vienna), son and pupil of the portrait and genre painter Alois Duxa (1843-1918), studied 1888-1895 at the Vienna Academy with Josef Mathias Trenkwald, late 1890s stay in Holland and Emden in north-west Germany, from 1905 member of the Vienna Künstlerhaus, member of the Allgemeine Deutsche Kunstgenossenschaft as well as member of the artists' association "Alte Welt", attended various art exhibitions such as the Vienna Künstlerhaus and the Munich Glaspalast, active in Vienna , source: Thieme-Becker, Saur "Bio-Bibliographisches Künstlerlexikon", Fuchs, Dressler and Wikipedia.
