Music-making peasant couple
Two portraits of a couple, consisting of a woman playing a flute and a laughing man, dark-toned painting, oil on canvas, 18th century, unsigned, previous owner's annotation to the two paintings attached on the reverse "Dr. med. F. Böwering ... Königstein/Ts. [in the Taunus] ... Oil paintings: these absolutely belong together! "Mamma fleit u. Papa lachet" - prehistory: lay in the sacristy at Dolberg when the church was restored ...", old retouched and doubled, in need of restoration, framed as pendants in modern times, folding dimensions each approx. 41 x 32 cm.
