View from the edge of the forest with a small pond across meadows and fields to the Kuhberg near Netzschkau under a loosely clouded sky, watercolour, c. 1980, signed lower right "S. Hauffe", titled "Am Kuhberg" and inscribed "Org. Aqu." in pencil on the mount, somewhat browned in the mount, framed behind glass, mount approx. 18.5 x 26 cm. Artist info: German animal, hunting and landscape painter as well as illustrator (1923 Plauen to 1997 Plauen), studied 1937-41 at the Plauen art school with Walther Löbering and Kurt Geipel, from 1945 freelance, member of the Verband Bildender Künstler (VBK) of the GDR, active in Plauen-Kauschwitz, Source: Vollmer, Eisold " Künstler in der DDR", Frank Weiß "Malerei im Vogtland" and Wikipedia.
