summer view along the Rosenbach stream towards Rößnitz, surrounded by slight hills, watercolour, c. 1980-90, signed lower right "S. Hauffe", slightly yellowed, framed under mount and behind glass, mount cut-out c. 28 x 39 cm. Artist info: German animal, hunting and landscape painter as well as illustrator (1923 Plauen to 1997 Plauen), studied 1937-41 at the Plauen Art School with Walther Löbering and Kurt Geipel, from 1945 freelance, member of the Association of Visual Artists (VBK) of the GDR, active in Plauen-Kauschwitz, source: Vollmer, Eisold " Künstler in der DDR", Frank Weiß "Malerei im Vogtland" and Wikipedia.
