Walther Brand, In the Treba Valley near Treuen in the Vogtland
Late summer valley bottom with colourfully coloured trees along the bank of the tributary of the Trieb also called "Treuener Wasser" in the Saxon Vogtland, slightly impasto, impressionistic landscape painting, oil on canvas, c. 1940, signed "Brand" lower right, retouch, stretcher woodworm-stained, somewhat in need of restoration, framed in silver moulding, folding dimensions approx. 80 x 100 cm. Artist info: also Walter Brand, German landscape and flower painter, graphic artist and advertising artist (1894 Leipzig until after 1958 Auerbach?), studied at the Leipzig Academy under Fritz Ernst Rentsch and Paul Horst-Schulze, worked as art teacher (senior teacher) at the "Deutsche Oberschule" in Auerbach in the Vogtland, source: Vollmer.
