Sand pit partly overgrown with shrubs and trees in an autumnal landscape, watercolour, c. 1960, inscribed in pencil lower right "Franz Vetter Gotha sign. Dr. Irmgart Vetter 1972", framed under mount and behind glass, mount approx. 33.5 x 48 cm. Artist info: German painter (1886 Giebichenstein to 1967 Gotha), 1907-10 studied at the Gewerbliche Zeichen- und Handwerksschule in Halle/Saale, 1910-13 studied at the Kunstakademie in Kassel, 1914-46 teacher at the gewerbliche Berufsschule Gotha, 1946-66 he taught in painting and drawing circles, member of the VBK of the GDR, 1953 represented at the 3rd German Art Exhibition, lifelong correspondence partnership with Hermann Hesse, source: Vollmer and Wikipedia.
