Three views of Westphalian moated castles, including a view of the moated castle called "Haus Borg" in Rinkerode in North Rhine-Westphalia, "Haus Itlingen" in the Forsthövel estate in Ascheberg-Herbern in the Münsterland and a view of the Raesfeld moated castle with the chapel of St. Sebastian and the castle grounds in the West Münsterland. Sebastian and Schlossfreiheit in Westmünsterland, mixed media (watercolour ink drawings), each signed in ink at lower right "Paul Geissler" and once dated "1925", each titled in lead "Borg" below the image at left, "Itlingen" and "Raesfeld - Schloßkapelle", each with probably original label of the artist on the reverse with information on motif and technique as well as signature, various conditions, one spotted, framed as counterparts behind glass and passepartout (bumped), passepartout cut-outs approx. 21 x 25 cm, 22 x 23 cm and 21 x 26 cm. Artist info: also Geißler, Germ. Painter, draughtsman and etcher (1881 Erfurt to 1965 Garmisch-Partenkirchen), pupil of the school of arts and crafts in Erfurt, later studied at the academy of arts in Weimar under Max Thedy, undertook study trips through Germany, Austria and France, longer stay in Dresden, worked one year in Munich, Brussels and one year in Paris, since 1919 resident in Partenkirchen, also participated in the exhibitions at the Glaspalast in Munich and the Great German Art Exhibition at the Haus der Kunst in Munich in 1937-42, member of the Association of German Illustrators, the Reichsverband Bildender Künstler Deutschlands, the Allgemeine Deutsche Kunstgenossenschaft and the Münchner Künstlergenossenschaft , source: Thieme-Becker, Vollmer, Saur "Bio-Bibliographisches Künstlerlexikon", Dressler, Bruckmann "Münchner Maler des 19./20th century", Müller-Singer, Jansa, Davidson, Kürschners Graphikerhandbuch 1967 and Wikipedia.
