View of Frankfurt am Main with the cathedral, the banks of the Main, the Eisernen Steg and the Historisches Museum Frankfurt, large-format colour woodcut, c. 1980-90, signed in pencil "Fekete" on the right and numbered "22/200" on the left, folded over at the left and right edges of the sheet, somewhat damaged and browned, brown traces below the signature difficult to see, mounted under passepartout, dimensions of the image approx. 50 x 90 cm, sheet dimensions (folded over) ca. 60 x 100 cm. Artist info: born as Fekete István, German-Argentine. Hungarian painter, draughtsman and graphic artist. (1924 Cinkota/Budapest until 2009 Dieburg), grew up in Hungary and Turkey (1928-32 Istanbul and Ankara), initially studied civil engineering in Budapest, 1947 trip to Paris without returning to Hungary, 1948 emigration to Buenos Aires and 1951 Argentinean citizen, here autodidactic artistic training, promoted by Professor Julio E. Payró, 1964 moved to Roßdorf-Gundernhausen near Darmstadt, 1978 German citizenship, from 1984 alternately active in Gundernhausen and Kenmare (Ireland), source: Vollmer and Internet.
