abstract depiction of a cross, elaborate colour etching, partly with embossing, signed in lead "Dahmen" under the depiction on the right, numbered and dated "16/50 1971" on the left and titled "Kreuzformation" in the centre, embossed stamp "edition rothe" in the lower left corner of the sheet, light-stained, several tears in the paper margin, but not affecting the depiction, dimensions of the depiction approx. 79 x 55,5 cm, sheet dimensions ca. 104,5 x 78 cm. Artist's info: German artist (1917 Stolberg/Rheinland until 1981 Preinersdorf), 1932 until its closure in 1933 attendance of the 'Kunstgewerbeschule Aachen', 1936-38 apprenticeship as commercial artist, 1939-45 military service and war captivity, 1952 together with other artists foundation of the 'Neue Aachener Gruppe', 1953 through contacts in France organisation of the first German-French exhibition after World War II, from 1959 member of the 'Gruppe Aachen'. World War II, from 1959 member of the "Gruppe 53" and participation in the documenta II in Kassel, from 1964 teaching position at the Kunstschule Bremen, from 1967 professorship at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Munich, since 1974 member of the Akademie der schönen Künste Munich, Source: Internet.
