James Coignard, Abstract Composition
Weave of strokes over a beige field and the letters "AB" on a black ground, mixed media (etching, opaque colour, coloured chalk and chine-coleé) on handmade paper, late 20th century, signed in pencil "J. Coignard" in the lower right-hand corner, numbered "27/50" in the lower left-hand corner, mounted in a passepartout and framed under glass, sheet measures approx. 21 x 21 cm. Artist info: French painter and graphic artist (1925 Tours to 2008 Antibes), in 1948 he decided to become an artist and studied at the École de Arts Décoratifs in Nice, contact with Marc Chagall, Henri Matisse and Georges Braque, from the end of the 1960s he worked with the Carborundum technique, represented in numerous museums and galleries worldwide, source: Wikipedia.
