A young woman dressing in front of a bed in her chamber, colour lithograph, signed and dated in lead at the bottom centre "Mucchi 1977" and inscribed at the top centre "n. d. a.", inscribed in lead on the reverse "Mucchi Sich Anziehende", minimally browned, both long sides with smaller tears, image perfect, dimensions of image approx. 39 x 36 cm, dimensions of sheet approx. 69 x 51 cm. Artist's info: Italian painter, graphic artist, journalist and architect (1899 Turin to 2002 Milan), co-founder of the "New Realism" (Nuovo Realismo), 1916-23 studied civil engineering and architecture at the University of Bologna, 1917-18 military service, afterwards working professionally in Rome and Milan, 1928-30 study visit to Berlin and collaboration on the magazines "Die neue Revue" and "Der Querschnitt", 1931-34 study visit to Paris, 1934 return to Milan and subsequent fame through murals, member of the anti-fascist group Corrente, soldier in the Second World War, later partisan. After 1945, co-founder of the magazine Realismo and moved to the GDR, 1956-61 professor at the Berlin-Weißensee School of Art and 1961-63 professor at the Caspar David Friedrich Institute of the University of Greifswald, then freelance in Berlin and Milan, Source: Vollmer, Eisold "Künstler in der DDR" and Wikipedia.
