Apollo, the god of light in a chariot drawn by horses, and Athena, the goddess of wisdom with an owl, etching, circa 1990, etching on greyish paper, signed in lead on the right under the image "Curt Lessig" and titled in the centre "Apollo u Athene", signed in the plate on the left "Curt Lessig", image dimensions approx. 29,5 x 40 cm, sheet dimensions ca. 39,5 x 49 cm. Artist's info: German graphic artist, painter and designer of church windows (1924 Stuttgart to 2019 Würzburg), 1939-40 studied painting with Heiner Dikreiter, 1940-42 apprenticeship as church painter in Würzburg, 1942-46 soldier in the 2nd World War and prisoner of war, 1942-46. World War II and war captivity, 1947 founding member of the professional association of visual artists in Upper and Lower Franconia, 1948-59 studied painting at the academy in Munich with Walther Teutsch, worked as church painter, from 1957 freelance, numerous study trips, source: Wikipedia and internet presence of the artist.
