Artist info: actually Theodor Joseph Hagen, German painter and graphic artist. Painter and graphic artist (1842 Düsseldorf to 1919 Weimar), 1863-68 studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy under Oswald Achenbach, 1871 appointed to the Grand Ducal Art School in Weimar, here among others teacher of Christian Rohlfs, 1876-81 director of the Weimar Art School, from 1886 director of the Hamburg Kunsthalle, important representative of the Weimar School of Painting, exhibition participation among others at the Berlin Academy, the Deutscher Künstlerbund Weimar and the Glaspalast Munich, memberships: Munich Secession, Berlin Secession and Deutscher Künstlerbund, source: Thieme-Becker, AKL and Wikipedia.
