Early 20th century, signed, foundry stamp in relief Kraas Bildguss, metal casting green-grey patinated, depiction of a young roebuck on a square natural plinth, base broken and glued to wooden plate, mounting loose, H sculpture 21.5 cm, H total 24, L total 21.5 cm. Artist's info: German sculptor (1869 Eger to 1934 Dresden), descended from a family of artists, studied in Munich at the Academy of Arts, then moved to Dresden, the main focus of his work is realistic animal figures, he gathered inspiration in the Dresden Zoo, where he filled countless sketchbooks with designs, also worked as a freelancer for the porcelain manufactory Karl Ens in Rudolstadt-Volkstedt.
