Edmond Lefever Bagpiper "Piccolo"
dated 1875, signed, recto inscribed on coloured ground "Piccolo", terracotta, lad in rural costume with fur waistcoat, leaning against a wall base, playing music, on black lacquered wooden base, small chip on the stand, hat professionally restored, hairline crack, h 55 cm. Artist info: Belgian sculptor (1839 Ypres to 1911 Schaarbeek), studied at the Brussels Academy, travelled to Rome, exhibited regularly also internationally and received partly state commissions.
