Rudolstadt-Volkstedt Capodimonte-Style Porcelain Box
Porcelain manufacturer Ernst Bohne & Söhne Rudolstadt, underglaze blue Naples imitation mark 1901-1937, oval, slightly bulbous body on four small feet with lavish relief decoration as multi-figured mythological scenes, in the central medallion of the flat lid three dancing maenads flanked by bird of paradise and lion motif as well as tongue frieze framing, all coloured and gold decorated as well as scattered flower branches inside in polychrome onglaze painting, gilded metal mount oxidised, otherwise good condition according to age, l 21 cm.
