Meissen pair of magnificent "figure candlesticks"
designed by Johann Joachim Kaendler, underglaze blue pommel sword marks 1860-1924, 1st choice, incised model numbers C 84 a and C 84 b as well as red brush numbers, girandole pendants in rococo form with four-piece curved and arched foot, fully plastic figure shaft as Venus resp. Bacchus with a putto in his arm, each holding a cornucopia with mounted candle spout, as well as a pluggable vegetal top with lush blossoms and four further spouts in the form of buds, all richly decorated with ornamental relief decoration, fine polychrome onglaze and gold decoration as well as bird and insect painting, both candlesticks minimally bumped at the flower trimming, also a man's foot, a spout rim and a leaf rosette, h without attachment 32 cm each, h total 47 cm each.
