Madagascar, Mahafaly group, 1st half of the 20th century, standing female figure in stylised form, carrying a water trough on her head, mounted on a later blackened iron base, wormholes, minor losses of substance, traces of age, h 43.5 cm. Provenance: Acquired in 1977 in Ambositra, Madagascar, since then in two German private collections.
