Albert Wiegand (1890-1978), German Expressionist painter, studied in Düsseldorf under Lothar von Kunowski and was then active in the circle of Otto Ubbelohde's students. After World War I he intensively studied August Macke's work. Still life with fruits and two cucumbers, gouache on orange-red wove paper (papier vélin), monogrammed in pencil lower left, c. 1919, some loss of colour due to creases, 49.5 x 68.5 cm
Albert Wiegand (1890-1978), dt. Maler des Expressionismus, stud. in Düsseldorf bei Lothar von Kunowski und war danach im Schülerkreis von Otto Ubbelohde tätig. Nach dem 1. WK setzt er sich intensiv mit August Mackes Werk auseinander. Stillleben mit Früchten und zwei Kürgen, Gouache auf orangerotem Velin, u. li. mit Bleistift monogr., um 1919, teils an Knitterungen etwas Farbverlust, 49,5 x 68,5 cm
