Waffle iron or wafer iron, c. 1800, iron. Two oval iron plates with long handles connected by hinges. On the two inner sides finely engraved decoration as a matrix for the wafer pattern. Here on one side a stylised monstrance with cross, sun star and small cross surrounded by flowers. On the other side a cross in escutcheon surrounded by flowers. At the end of the handle a long oval ring is attached to secure the tongs. Hand-forged, heavy, solid construction. Beautiful iron patina. Diameter of plates max. 16cm, total length 80 cm.
Waffeleisen bzw. Oblateneisen, um 1800, Eisen. Zwei ovale Eisenplatten mit langen Griffstangen durch Scharnier verbunden. Auf den beiden Innenseiten fein graviertes Dekor als Matritze für das Oblatenmuster. Hier auf einer Seite eine stilisierte Monstranz mit Kreuz, Sonnenstern und kleinem Kreuz, umgeben von Blumen. Auf der anderen Seite Kreuz in Wappenschild, umgeben von Blumen. Am Griffende lang-ovaler Ring eingehängt zur Sicherung der Zange. Handgeschmiedet, schwere, massive Ausführung. Schöne Eisenpatina. Durchmesser Platten max. 16cm, Gesamtlänge 80 cm
