Technique: Ölmalerei auf Holz, verso Samtabdeckung. Oklad aus vergoldetem Silber, Filigran, Emailplaketten

AN ICON SHOWING THE VLADIMIRSKAYA MOTHER OF GOD WITH A SILVER-GILT AND FILIGREE OKLAD Russian, 2nd half 19th century (icon), probably Russian, Moscow, Ivan Khlebnikov, 1893 (oklad) Oil on wood panel with velvet backing. Overlaid with a gilded silver oklad, the robes of filigree silver, applied enamel plaques. Struck with city hallmark, assayer’s mark, 84 standard and master’s mark ‘KHLEBNIKOV’ in Cyrillic with Imperial warrant. 27 x 22.4 cm.
