Eitempera auf Kreidegrund, Hintergrund vergoldet. 38 x 29,6 cm. Horizontal Tempera on wood panel. Executed on a gold ground. Christ is here laid down before His Cross. St. Joseph of Arimathea has just taken Him down, and is beginning to wrap His legs with a clean linen cloth. St. Nicodemos standing behind him. The Mother of God cradles her Son tenderly in her arms and laments with St. John the Beloved Disciple leaning over and the Myrrh-Bearing Women wailing and weeping behind them. Mary Magdalene is standing on the left. Vertical crack restored, minor losses, areas of retouching. 38 x 29.6 cm.
