Nikolay Nikolaevich Apostoli (1861 - 1937) - Captain of the first rank, founder of marine photography, publisher of postcards. The representative of the naval officers dynasty, made photos of most of the ships of the Russian fleet of the late XIX - early XX centuries. His highly artistic illustrated material about the ships of the Russian fleet was included in many manuals, reference books and books.
