Mikhail Nikolaevich Baryshnikov (1948) is an outstanding ballet dancer, one of the few Russian artists who influenced the development and fate of world ballet. He was nominated for Oscars and Golden Globes. In 1974-1978 - Premier of the American Ballet Theater in New York., since 1980, the head of the troupe. The organizer of the dance project «White Oak» (1990-2002). Artistic Director of the Baryshnikov Center for the Arts in New York (2005).
