SYRO HITTITE STATUETTE OF HORSE AND A RIDER
Ca. 3000 - 2000 BCA Syro-Hittite terracotta figurine depicting a standing horse. The horse has a short tail and a long muzzle. It also features a little human figure wearing a conical cap riding on its back. The main characteristic of this figurine is the circle-shaped protruding eyes. For similar see: Brooklyn Museum accession number 1996.146.7.Size: 85mm x 80mm; Weight: 75gProvenance: Private UK collection, acquired on the US art market; Ex. private Florida collection, acquired from the Archaeological centre, 1980s-1990s.
