Within the art and auction art and house Quedlinburg you will find in one of the most beautiful and unique cities in Central Germany. Quedlinburg, located in the northeast of the Harz Mountains in Saxony-Anhalt, enchants with its historic old town, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1994, making the city one of the largest area monuments in Germany. Cobblestone streets, small winding alleys and squares as well as around 2,000 half-timbered houses from different eras bear witness to the city's over 1,000-year history.
Our art and auction house is one of these half-timbered houses and is located in the heart of Quedlinburg in the immediate vicinity of the market square. It consists of several nested building parts from the 16th and 17th centuries. The oldest parts of the house, which is protected as an individual monument, were built around 1570. In 1990, the formerly badly damaged building was restored with great attention to the historical details. Some old carvings were preserved on the facade, such as beautiful fan rosettes on one of the entrance doors.
The exhibition space of the art and auction house now covers around 800 square meters, from the vaulted cellar to the upper floors, where you will find selected art and antiques from a wide variety of eras. Also impressive is the expanded historic threshing floor, where, among other things, carriages were previously manufactured and repaired. Our auctions have taken place here three times a year since 1991. Next to it you will find the shop belonging to the Kunsthaus, which is also open from Monday to Sunday.
From the wine collection in the vaulted cellar to furniture from the Baroque, Biedermeier, Wilhelminian style or Art Nouveau eras to delicate glasses, artistic porcelain, atmospheric paintings and impressive sculptures as well as valuable watches and jewelry - the Quedlinburg art and auction house offers the right gem for every taste.
